The GT Summer Series is aimed at amateur drivers from around the world. Hosting an
international livestream has long been a foregone conclusion. Now, an additional German language
stream is being introduced – featuring a prominent presenter.
“Here at Gedlich Racing, it is particularly important to us that our drivers and teams receive the
best possible PR for themselves and their sponsors,” said Markus Gedlich. “To achieve this,
alongside innovations such as the Heroes Arena and the Fan Cam, we also offer a professional
livestream produced by our trusted Winter Series partner Alpha Live and accompanied by wellknown
English-speaking commentators.”
The GT Summer Series has an international focus. Stefan Lehner (Head of Race Series at Gedlich
Racing) explains: “Looking ahead, our goal is for around half of our entrants to come from abroad,
as word will spread that we provide an ideal platform for amateur drivers. However, in its debut
year, the GT Summer Series will feature more German teams and drivers, which makes an
additional livestream all the more worthwhile.”
No less a figure than Tobi Schimon has been secured as presenter and commentator. Schimon is
well known from ProSieben, where he commentates on the DTM this year. He also covers the
International 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring. However, he is not only familiar with professional
racing; he has also commentated on amateur series in the past, most recently the GTC.
Schimon said: “I am very much looking forward to the GT Summer Series, as I firmly believe it fills
a huge gap in German motorsport. Amateur drivers need a platform like this, where they are taken
seriously and find a professional environment. I am very excited about this opportunity.”
The 2026 GT Summer Series will begin at the legendary Hockenheimring from 17-19 April.
